Who we are
Chris Standing
Chris Standing is a highly accomplished Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt with an impressive career spanning over 22 years of training and coaching. Throughout his journey, he has become a renowned figure in the field of mixed martial arts. With his unparalleled skills and dedication, Standing has earned the prestigious title of two-time 170lb mixed martial arts champion.
Throughout his career, Standing had the privilege of training alongside some of the most well-known and recognized professional MMA fighters. His extensive experience and expertise have allowed him to train and guide numerous world champions in both MMA and BJJ.
Standing’s achievements extend far beyond the training mats. He has been a multiple-time medalist in the International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation (IBJJF) tournaments, including earning gold medals for his remarkable performances. Additionally, in 2019, he earned a PanAmerican IBJJF bronze medal in the NoGi tournament in New York.
What sets Standing apart is his versatile training background, having honed his skills in various disciplines, including western boxing, kickboxing, wrestling, Gi and NoGi Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. This diverse skill set has propelled him to excel in both striking and grappling techniques, enabling him to become a well-rounded martial artist.
Since 2009, Standing has been diligently studying and training in the BTT (Brazilian Top Team) system, refining his techniques under the guidance of renowned instructors. His dedication to his craft has led him to travel internationally to compete and corner over 300 amateur MMA fights and dozens of professional MMA bouts. With his expertise and guidance, he has helped athletes achieve remarkable success in these international competitions.
Chris Standing’s passion for martial arts, coupled with his extensive knowledge and experience, has made him a highly sought-after coach and mentor in the MMA and BJJ communities. His contributions to the sport have left an indelible mark, both as an accomplished individual and as a respected figure in the industry.
Michelle Standing
Michelle Standing is a skilled martial artist who has been training in jiu-jitsu since 2008. She fell in love with the art form and met her future husband, Chris, in 2009, with whom she began training. In 2011, they got married. Michelle has competed in mixed martial arts and has a 2-1 record. She fought for one of the top amateur MMA venues in Las Vegas, Tuff-N-Uff. Michelle was also given the opportunity to fight in the first-ever all-female fight card in Vegas, Tuff Girls.
Aside from her MMA career, Michelle has competed in local jiu-jitsu tournaments such as Subleague, Oregon Open, Ground Warrior, Revolution, and Portland IBJJF Open. Michelle has trained with both professionals and hobbyists and has assisted in coaching both kids and adults. When she isn’t on the mat, Michelle is happily raising her two twin boys, keeping her very busy.
Michelle believes that everyone has their own unique jiu-jitsu journey, and she is proud of her hard work and determination. Her dedication to the sport and her family is truly inspiring.
